Patient of the Month: Colton’s Journey to Confident Walking and Running
At AzOPT, we love celebrating the hard work and progress of our patients—and this month, we’re excited to recognize Colton as our Patient of the Month.
When Colton first came to AzOPT Gilbert in May, he was recovering from bilateral calf surgery (gastroc lengthening). As a severe toe-walker, his biggest goals were to walk normally, return to his favorite daily activities, and eventually get back to running and riding his bike.
From Surgery to Success
Recovery after a surgery like gastroc lengthening can be challenging, but Colton approached every session with determination and positivity. He worked with his AzOPT Gilbert physical therapist, Drew, to rebuild strength, balance, and coordination in his lower legs.
Through progressive physical therapy exercises, gait training, and consistent brace use as prescribed, Colton began to see major improvements in his walking pattern.
Walking, Jogging, and Thriving Again
Fast forward to today—Colton is walking with confidence and even jogging again. His steady progress is a direct result of his effort, consistency, and trust in the process.
At AzOPT Gilbert, we know that recovery is more than just physical—it’s about regaining independence, confidence, and the joy of movement. Colton’s story reminds us that with the right team, effort, and attitude, amazing progress is possible.
Congratulations, Colton
We’re so proud of how far you’ve come, Colton. Your determination and positive spirit inspire our entire AzOPT team. Keep chasing those goals!
