AzOPT and Kids Place are committed to the communities in which we belong.  You will regularly see us volunteering at many of our city’s events, or on the sidelines supporting the local sport programs.  Most of our therapists are involved in the local health and fitness gyms, as well.  We also enjoy supporting the amazing healthcare providers in our communities and host fun contests throughout the year to show our appreciation. We encourage the support of those who support AzOPT and Kids Place.

Notable Community Events

Every October, AzOPT & Kids Place host a competition between local provider offices to find the most creative and popular pumpkin! As we have grown, the competition has grown to include all the communities we service. We provide the pumpkin, the providers provide the creativity. Kids Place pediatric patients vote to decide the Grand Champion and Facebook likes determine the Social Media Champion.

Since 2013, AzOPT & Kids Place has teamed with CrossFit Fury to host Family Health and Fitness Day. This FREE annual event invites families of all ages and fitness levels to participate in various fitness and sporting events that bring together the entire family to promote physical activity.  Healthcare professionals, local health businesses, and other community partners also join in to provide knowledge to attendees.  Even the Mayor of Goodyear has proclaimed this day as Family Health and Fitness Day!

On March 25, 2017, AzOPT & Kids Place teamed up with Down Syndrome Network of Arizona to host a day of music, crafts, food and fun to help celebrate World Down Syndrome Day. More than 400 people from around the Valley joined together in support of people with Down syndrome and those impacted by Down Syndrome.

World Down Syndrome Day is a global awareness day which has been observed since 2012. The actual date is the 21st day of the 3rd month, selected to signify the uniqueness of the triplication (trisomy) of the 21st chromosome which causes Down syndrome.

Down syndrome is one of the most common genetic conditions affecting 1 in 691 babies born in the United States. This event served as a platform to raise public awareness and create a single global voice advocating for the rights, inclusion and general understanding of people with Down syndrome.

Throughout the year, AzOPT and Kids Place host or present many different educational workshops. Whether you want to learn how to rid yourself of back pain, prevent falls, or more about child development, our therapists love educating the community. If you are interested in having an AzOPT or Kids Place therapist speak for your event, please contact info@azopt.net.
